Legacy PHP 5.x and 7.x applications
Inventory the codebase, framework, extensions and database driver dependencies. Older applications may need staged upgrades and code changes before they can run on modern PHP.
Move ageing PHP applications towards supported runtimes and maintainable infrastructure without treating every application as a simple version upgrade.
We can assess applications running on older PHP releases—including PHP 5.x, PHP 7.x and PHP 8.0–8.2—and plan a safe path to a supported target. The destination depends on the framework, libraries, extensions and application code.
Inventory the codebase, framework, extensions and database driver dependencies. Older applications may need staged upgrades and code changes before they can run on modern PHP.
Review deprecated or removed features, strict typing and error behaviour, package constraints and extension compatibility before selecting a supported target.
As of October 2026, PHP 8.4 and 8.5 are current supported branches. We choose the target after checking your framework and dependencies; we do not promise that every legacy application can jump directly to the newest branch.
Create a backup and rollback plan, test critical user journeys, validate database interactions and scheduled jobs, then plan staging and production cutover with monitoring.
We commonly begin with a technical assessment rather than quoting a fixed migration effort. Share your current PHP version, framework (if known), database and hosting setup for an initial review.
